Raymond Burke (clarinetist)

Raymond Burke (6 June 1904 - 21 March 1986) was a U.S. jazz clarinetist.

Burke was born as Raymond Barrios in New Orleans, Louisiana. He seldom left the city limits, as he disliked traveling. He was always highly regarded by his fellow musicians but was rather obscure with jazz fans until he appeared on many fine recordings in the 1960s.

He was a regular at Preservation Hall for many years, with Kid Thomas Valentine's band and other groups.

Some memorabilia and records from Raymond Burke are in the Tulane University special collections.
